The brief
This batch was produced in collaboration with Dreamy Cake and shop.dreamycake.co.uk. The client wanted a small branded item that could be included with bakery orders as a useful extra rather than a purely decorative giveaway.
The result was a mini scraper suitable for handling dough, fondant or sugar paste. Because the item is genuinely usable, it works better as a long-term branded insert than a simple printed token or generic promotional gift.
Why this product works well for branding
A good promotional item needs to do more than carry a logo. It should feel purposeful, be lightweight for packing and still look neat in quantity.
These scrapers were designed to:
- be easy to include in bakery orders
- show branding directly in the printed surface
- work in several soft colourways
- scale well into larger repeat batches
Production approach
1) Integrated lettering instead of stickers on the part itself
The branding and wording were printed flush into the face of the scraper, rather than being added afterwards with paint or labels. That gives the product a more durable finish and keeps the design feeling intentional.
2) Multi-printer batch workflow
To keep the batch practical at volume, production was spread across Bambu Lab A1, P1S and P2S printers using AMS Lite, AMS and AMS 2 Pro systems. That made it possible to handle multi-colour text while keeping output consistent across the run.
3) Packing and presentation
In addition to the printing itself, the order included individual packaging and a custom sticker made specifically for presentation. That extra finishing work helped the batch feel more like a polished retail insert than a loose pack of printed items.
Result
The first batch included 220 branded mini scrapers in several colours, priced at £0.75 per piece including design preparation, manufacturing, individual packing and custom sticker work.
This project shows how FDM printing can support promotional merchandise, branded retail inserts, bakery tools and repeat small-batch production where low minimum quantities and product personalisation are important.
