3D printing materials

Choosing the right material matters as much as the model. We’ll recommend the best option based on strength, heat exposure, flexibility, surface finish and how the part will be used.

Quick material picker

Not sure where to start? This is a practical guide. If your use case is unusual, send the brief and we’ll recommend the best match.

Use case Typical choice Why
Fast prototypes / visual parts PLA Clean print quality, great detail, wide colour choice
Everyday functional parts PETG Tougher feel than PLA, good all-round performance
Outdoor / UV exposure ASA Better weather and UV resistance for outdoor components
Wear / fatigue / mechanical use Nylon Engineering material for demanding functional parts (geometry dependent)
Flexible parts TPU Rubber-like flexibility for grips, bumpers and seals
High detail & smooth surfaces Resin (MSLA) Excellent detail for miniatures, stamps, masters and small precision parts

Looking for the lowest-cost option where suitable? PLA (FDM) and grey water-washable resin (MSLA) are often great starting points.

Colours and sourcing

We keep a wide stock of popular colours and can source specific materials on request.

  • PLA: large in-stock colour range (around 50 shades).
  • PETG: a core range of common colours (around 10).
  • Engineering filaments (ABS/ASA/Nylon/TPU): typically stocked in black/white/natural; other options can be sourced.
  • Resin: water-washable grey by default (also black/white/clear stocked); other colours on request.

If colour or brand matters, mention it in your quote request — we’ll confirm availability and lead time before printing.
