Google TV Streamer 4K wall mount: from a customer STL to repeat orders

A print request that became a repeat product

The first customer supplied an STL and permission to use it. We printed the requested part, created a listing for the order and subsequently prepared the product for repeat sales with colour and mounting-kit choices.

The original design is not ours, and we do not know its original author. This case study documents our manufacturing and fulfilment work with the supplied file rather than claiming that we designed the holder.

How the holder supports the streamer

The device slides down into the cradle from above. Its close fit locates it between the curved sides, while the lower section supports it from underneath. The large opening below leaves space for the connected cables; the open front keeps much of the device exposed rather than enclosing it in a box.

Two holes in the back provide screw-fixing positions. The holder can be placed on a suitable wall or vertical surface behind a television, subject to space for the device, cables and access. It is a surface-mounted holder; the two holes are not presented as a VESA mounting pattern.

The printed PLA surfaces contact the device directly, without soft inserts. The design leaves access to the connections and controls. The installed photographs below show the arrangement in a customer's setup.

Colours and mounting-kit choices

The holder is printed in PLA in eight colour options: black, white, grey, red, blue, green, yellow and pink. Each print takes approximately two and a half hours.

Customers can choose the holder alone, a version with mounting tape already applied, or a kit containing two screws and two wall plugs. The appropriate fixing method depends on the mounting surface; the accessories are alternatives rather than a promise that one fixing will suit every wall or television installation.

The holder in a customer's installation

The customer-supplied photographs show the streamer seated in a grey holder, with its cables connected underneath. The wider view places it beside a television wall bracket and other equipment, illustrating how the holder can be used in a real setup.

Repeat orders and buyer feedback

By the time this article was prepared, the listing had recorded 33 sales and its item-specific feedback tab showed 29 entries. Those figures refer to this holder, rather than the seller-wide feedback total.

The visible feedback was positive. Short excerpts from buyer-written entries include:

Another buyer described a delivery issue that was resolved promptly, alongside praise for the item. The feedback also includes automated eBay delivery confirmations; these are distinct from personal comments written by customers. Buyer names are omitted here.
